Figure Quiz POST 1

RunBTS Ep.140, part 2- Figure quiz- only explained Korean & Korean characters.

# Park Jin-Young (JYP)

The CEO of JYP Entertainment Company.

(one of the biggest Korean music label)

BangPD (CEO of HIVE) began his career at JYP ent, as a songwriter. And  j-hope auditioned for JYP too!

# So Yoo-Jin

The rest of the members were mad at Jimin when he didn’t get her name.

She is a Korean actress and married to Chef.Baek the guest of RunBTS ep.125.

# Park Chan-Ho

“A ‘Too much talker’.”

RM says “(I only remembered) too…too much…ㅋㅋㅋ”

JK in the back : ” Me too ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”

What in the world are they talking about?

Park Chan-Ho was a professional baseball player. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres…and so many I can’t even name all here.

And to Koreans, he is also famous for being a very talkative guy.

Whenever he gets a mic in his hand,  interviews, a speech, or any, he won’t stop until someone… “Sir, we are out of time.. we should move on…” (Mr. Park nods & continues his speech).

# Choi WooShik

Choi Woo-Shik is Korean actor. (Bong JoonHo- Parasite)

V has close celebrity friend members other than BTS called “wooga family”.

V met them through Hwarang.

Choi Woo-Shik is a member of the squad. Other members are Park Seo Joon, Park Hyung Shik, Peakboy

# Bong JoonHo

He filmed many Korean Box office hit movies, most current work is The Parasite.

He won Academy Award for Best Directing.

# Ryu HyunJin

He is a professional baseball pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB).

(It’s okay Jimina, unnie can’t recall names fast either ㅠㅠ)

#Park Bo Gum

Park Bogum is Korean actor. Born 1993, same age as SUGA.

He is currently serving military, will be over in year 22!

# Park Seojoon

Look at the happy Taehyungie. 🤗

Park Seojoon is another ‘wooga family’ member!

Remember V & Park Seojoon in Hwarang?

#Lee Sang- Hwa

She is retired speed skater, a two-time Olympic champion.(2010 and 2014)

Koreans have special interest in speed skating & Women figure skating.

Skater Olympic medalists are quite famous.

And finally, Jiminie got free from the only ‘ddang’ (wrong) member.

Did you notice he has been speaking in satoori (dialog) since he got the first figure wrong?

He has been so nervous since the question, kept spoken in satoori, his Korean subtitles go↖↗↘.

As a non-satoori speaker, his accent is really cute. 😂

And at this V’s shot.

The English subtitle translates [What’s happening?]. Which is very correct.

The blue letters ‘머선 일이고?’ is  one of the 2021 young Koreans new word. (slang)

Its written either ‘머선 일이고’ or ‘머선 129’ and read the same.

*머선 129 (muh-son-il-ee-gu)

# Lee SeoJin

Korean Actor.

Didn’t get translated into subtitles, but Jimin murmurs “Yoo,,Youn..He is on the show…”.

*NaPD’s show program ‘Youn Stay”. (One of the current hottest show.)

From left, Choi Wooshik, Jeong Yumi, Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Seojin, Park Seojoon.

Two ‘wooga’ members are in the show also.

# Jo Jungsuk

Korean Actor.

He filmed lots of romance, comedy genres of dramas and movies.

# Kim KyungHo

Kim Kyungho is a Korean ‘legend of rock’ and got four octave vocal range.

Yes, this is a man with a pretty hair.

# Ricaprio?

Hahahaha this part was so funny.

Okay. When Taehyungie said “Ricaprio” and Jin “I heard DiCaprio”.

Did you notice Taehyung make this gesture?

Taehyung says “DiCa, Prio” with this hand motion.

ㅋㅋㅋ “dica” or ‘디카’ is commonly used word for ‘digital camera’.

Of course DiCaprio has nothing to do with a digital camera.

Tae made ‘dica’-photo taking motion to just emphasize he made  ‘d-‘ pronounciation.

# Baek Jongwon

Yes! Chef Back!

Remember Chef. Baek Jongwon from the Run BTS Ep. 125, “K-Ham Special” right? (mentioned in the second figure So YooJin, Mr Baek’s wife)

When members divided into two teams, made food with special Chef Baek’s K-Ham to promote Korean pork.

Chef Baek is famous for making cooking a trend.

He suggests easy recipes for nice meals, encouraged many bad cooks to try cooking, enjoy cooking.

Baek Jongwon chef is on many tv shows, running a YouTube channel, and before he started all these he was a CEO of chain restaurants businesses.

If you need any Korean food recipes, I suggest his YouTube channel. This is also where Koreans go for recipes too.

[Baek’s Topokki Recipe (English subtitles available)]

# Kim Yuna

Retired competitive figure skater.

I believe she is the most loved athletes by Koreans.

She is the 2010 Olympic champion and 2014 silver medalist in ladies’ singles; the 2009 & 2013 World champion; the 2009 Four Continents champion; a three-time (2006–2007, 2007–2008, 2009–2010) Grand Prix Final champion; the 2006 World Junior champion; the 2005 Junior Grand Prix Final champion; and a six-time (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2013, 2014) South Korean national champion.

# Bboong BBoong-ie

Okay, this orange, persimmon-looking character is called “Bboong-Bboong-ie”.

Such a funny name for kids, Bboong-Bboong-ie means about “Mr.Prrrrt-prrrt”.

Yup. This is a orange farting monster.

By the way, one of the SUGA’s nickname,
has this same”bboongbboong”.

# Mak-doongie

This subtitle was for Jungkook on when he won from NaPD, got the #Jo Jungsuk right.

This word only appeared in the subtitle, translated as [Our Youngest is so cool] in full sentence.

Makdoongie is almost the same word as maknae.

Maknae=The youngest of the siblings.

Makdoongie is also the youngest of the siblings, but when ‘doongie’ is added, there is extra feeling of “precious”, “adored”, “cared”.

For a typical example, there is a word ‘sarangdoongie’.

Sarang any familiar to you? It means love.

You call your child 사랑둥이 ‘sarangdoogie’, the beloved, precious, everything of you.

Then, K-Armys named this special name for special our friends.

외랑둥이 “ouirangdoongie”

It’s two words coined.

외국 (foreign) + 사랑둥이(adored/ beloved family member)

Now it’s known as “I-lovelies” to I-Armys.

Sending all I-lovelies the special love from Korea
